At age 18, she joined MEXICANA AIRLINES where she worked as a flight attendant for 3 years. During that period, she was awarded a scholarship from the Italian Embassy to study Italian at THE INSTITUTO MICHELANGELO in Florence, Italy. Nevertheless, she persevered by attending multiple independent workshops for writing, acting, directing, and editing. In 2000, she took a trip with her husband to the USA, where she wrote, shot, and edited her carnet de voyage called “West Coast”. Once unveiling her gift for acting, she continued performing in independent movies, shorts and commercials. She further extended her knowledge base of filmmaking by corresponding as a sports reporter for TV AZTECA.
In 2006, Cecilia took a big step and emigrated again, for the last time to the USA. She enrolled at UCLA Extension in the Film TV and Entertainment program and obtained two certificates: one in Producing and one in Directing. During the program, she wrote, directed and edited three shorts in English that screened in several film festivals.
In 2008, she wrote her first screenplay ALTA EXPOSICION (High Exposure) that granted her one of the fifteen spots nationwide for the LATINO WRITERS LAB mentoring program from NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers). In 2009, she created the first season of a TV series called TE LA VOLASTE. Currently, she is fully immersed in her acting and singing career, while in development on an international franchise based on her novel “Bienvenidos a Bordo”.
